Reaching Your Potential Scholarship Program - Students who face significant obstacles to higher education are the target of this need-based, renewable scholarship program which provides approximately $100,000 in scholarships each year. Applicants are referred to the program by community agencies and colleges statewide. College Access Grants Program - Provides funding for Nebraska high schools that seek to develop or enhance college access activities within their school. The program’s goal is to increase the number of Nebraska students going to college. Every two years, EducationQuest provides grants to approximately 15 high schools and commits funding to each school for four years. Funding amounts depend on the high school’s enrollment.

Camp Sunshine
Provides free retreats combining respite, recreation and support, for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families through the various stages of a child’s illness. The program is offered year-round and has the distinction of having been designed to serve the entire family in a retreat model. The program is free of charge to families and includes on-site medical support. Travel assistance is also available and prioritized for families attending Camp Sunshine for the first time. The program serves families of children with cancer, hematologic conditions, renal disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, and those who have undergone solid organ transplantation. Offering programs to children and families at various stages of illness, and seek to provide forums for families in unique circumstances within the general populations that it serves. Bereavement programs are also offered to families who have attended in the past or who have experienced the death of a child from a supported illness.

A free Thanksgiving meal from the MLK Center is offered to the entire Quad Cities community over 3 days the weekend before Thanksgiving.
Fri, Nov 20th, 12 pm-5 pm (drive-through only).
Sat, Nov 21st, 11 am-5 pm (drive-through and 25 meal minimum delivery).
Sun, Nov 22nd, 12 pm-4 pm (dine-in only).
For meals, arrive in the parking lot and tell staff how many meals are needed. Meals include turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, dressing, green beans, corn, cranberry sauce and dessert.
Curbside service is available at the MLK Center while supplies last.
