Helps taxpayers whose problems with the IRS are causing financial difficulties, such as not being able to provide necessities like housing, transportation, or food; taxpayers who are seeking help in resolving problems with the IRS; and those who believe an IRS system or procedure is not working as it should.
If a client qualifies for help, advocates work with the IRS to resolve issues.

Contacting the family after an Emergency Communications Message is sent to determine any new or ongoing needs.
Assessing the needs of the family beyond emergency communications.
Providing information about, and referral to, local resources.
Conducting a client satisfaction survey prior to closing the case.
