Dallas County Environmental Health Department

Coordinates and administers state codes related to environmental health and public safety. The program also investigates improper solid waste disposal, provides radon test kits, and conducts mold analysis to identify potential health risks in homes and other structures. Under the Department of Public Health, it enforces home sanitation standards by inspecting dwellings to ensure compliance with regulations regarding maintenance, sanitation, and safety, including the availability of hot and cold water, functioning sewage systems, and pest-free environments. Additionally, it conducts inspections of swimming pools, spas, and tattoo establishments in accordance with State Codes.

Offers a community-based service provided to adults who are experiencing a mental health crisis. Services are designed to provide an opportunity to stabilize in a safe, comfortable, and controlled environment. Provided by trained crisis response staff, clients are able to connect with appropriate services and resources with hopes of preventing hospitalization and/or court involvement. ​Crisis Stabilization Residential Services work with the client to establish services such as assistance meeting basic human needs, medication administration, support, and monitoring, crisis intervention services, personal and peer support, social skills development, leisure time, and vocational rehabilitation. Protection and advocacy, service coordination and transportation are also available. The Crisis Stabilization Residential Service is limited to five consecutive days.

Provides a 24-hour crisis line and support services for victims in the Latino community, including individual counseling, support groups, court advocacy, safety planning, and referrals. Legal counseling is available from staff lawyers who provide information and guidance regarding legal rights, responsibilities, and suggested courses of action without representing clients in court.

The organization also offers domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy training and domestic violence intervention programs. These intervention programs utilize restorative justice classes, offender groups, and victim panels to address the impact of abuse, promote accountability for behavior related to power and control, and teach conflict resolution and healthy relationship skills.

  • Patient's income must fall at or below the income guidelines of the fund under which they are requesting financial assistance.  All funds have income guidelines of either 300% or 400% or less of the Federal Poverty Guideline (FPG) with consideration for the Cost of Living Index (COLI) and the number in the household
  • Patient will be informed immediately upon application if they qualify for assistance
