Embrace Iowa is a project through the Des Moines Register that is administered by Community Action Agencies in the state and is only accessible during a certain time period. Requests that are considered for this project may include beds, clothing, car repairs, medical expenses (including pharmacy, dental and corrective lenses), furniture, rent, utilities, home repairs, household items, appliances, and miscellaneous other things (computer, etc.) If there is not a service available to assist someone, this could be a possibility for them to apply for these funds during this time period. The maximum dollar amount awarded per household is $750.
