LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) assists low-income homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter heating season. Assistance is based on household income, size, type of fuel and type of housing. The application period is from October 1-April 30 for elderly and disabled households and November 1-April 30th for the rest of the households. Persons applying must meet 200% poverty guidelines. The program includes a 6-hour course and certification exam, offering the opportunity to become a certified Food Protection Manager through the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation. Open to individuals in the restaurant and food service industry, the training also serves as a resource for those involved in commercial food production activities such as farms, aquaculture facilities, and other food-related ventures.

Peer Recovery Specialists, peer recovery specialists assist individuals in achieving and maintaining long-term recovery from substance use disorders. They offer practical support such as goal setting, skills building, and crisis intervention, alongside emotional encouragement. Through shared experiences, they serve as mentors and role models, helping individuals create personalized recovery plans and connect with resources for housing, employment, and social services.
