A voluntary home visiting program that helps new and expectant parents strengthen their family's functioning and reduce their risk for child abuse and/or neglect. The program provides guidance about child development, child safety, and good parenting skills while providing support to the family.

Doula services are also available. This includes prenatal information and support, labor coaching, breastfeeding, postpartum depression support, and assistance in the early weeks after childbirth

Prenatal support groups are also available.

The health department is constantly monitoring school absences in an attempt to determine a food borne outbreak or a disease outbreak. The health department is also required to have drills annually to see how quickly they could dispense medications to the population should a bioterrorist event or pandemic influenza occur.

The health department currently monitors what is happening in the world regarding different disease outbreaks.

Home care services including nursing, rehabilitative therapies, psychiatric nursing services, home health aides, meal preparation, errands and grocery shopping, household assistance, and respite care.

Also offers home provider care services, including companionship, light housekeeping, and assistance with activities of daily living to help you safely stay independent at home.

Provides a senior center where seniors can come to share companionship, meals, and recreational activities. Services include congregate and home delivered meals, recreational activities that include a pool and exercise equipment, quilting, painting, bingo, exercise classes, and bowling.

OIffers to promote and enhance the Lake Mills area.

Offers a food pantry to those in need.

Provides a variety of camps for children, such as summer camp, PACT - Police and Children Together, Leaders of Tomorrow, Girls Rock, Kids in the Kitchen, Urban Farm, etc.

Assists individuals in overcoming substance use problems, from unhealthy alcohol use to life-threatening addiction. Inpatient and outpatient programs available. 

Provides nonperishable food items to those in need. May also direct callers to nearby food pantries.

Personal grooming supplies and hygiene items available.

Provides referrals if additional help is needed.

Offers help and hope to people struggling with depression, anxiety, anger, panic, compulsions and other nervous symptoms and emotional problems. At weekly meetings, people learn practical coping techniques to manage negative thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors and replace them with healthy thinking and constructive activity. Meetings last two hours.
