Free drop-in weight checks during open hours.

Additional workshops and classes offered periodically on parenting topics including soothing techniques, nutrition, returning to work, and fitness. Contact office for information.

Breastfeeding information center available on website, with extensive breastfeeding resources available free of charge.

Provides in-home case management as well as 24-hour response to emergencies. Services include a case manager who will monitor individuals weekly to ensure they are linked with the necessary resources and referrals for both inpatient and outpatient drug treatment programs. Services may also include weekly in-home and out-of-home counseling for adults, children, couples, and families. Families may also be referred to a number of community-based services, including medical services, counseling, drug or alcohol treatment support groups, food pantries, housing, employment training, and continuing education programs.

LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) assists low-income homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter heating season. Assistance is based on household income, size, type of fuel and type of housing. The application period is from October 1-April 30 for elderly and disabled households and November 1-April 30th for the rest of the households. Persons applying must meet 200% poverty guidelines.

LIHEAP also offers a crisis program that may be able to assist homeowners who are with no heat or limited heat during the off months of the LIHEAP program (May-September). The furnace component for crisis runs October 1-April 30th.

- Advocacy for individuals and systems that serve them.

- Driver's Education School is DMV certified; provides evaluation of reaction time, visual perception, and behind the wheel skills. Education and training includes classroom and on-the-road instruction. Offers adaptive equipment evaluation and training.

- Durable medical equipment rent/loan at Grand Island and Scottsbluff locations. Donations of equipment accepted.

- Peer mentoring, where people with disabilities support each other in their daily lives.

- Housing counseling assists people with disabilities in locating, acquiring, and maintaining safe, affordable, accessible housing.

Also encourages households to make regular utility payments, to promote energy awareness and to encourage reduction of energy usage. All customers applying for this prgram will simultaneously be making an application for weatherization assistance as required by state law. Assistance is based on household income. size, type of fuel, and type of housing. Applications accepted October 1-April 30 for the elderly and disabled households and November 1-April 30 for the rest of the households.

Provides prevention services and information about communicable diseases. Services may also include a Narcan nasal spray to eligible members of the public to support narcotic overdose prevention and reduce associated health risks.

Provides supportive services to victims of sexual assault and educational services to at-risk populations. Services include medical advocacy/hospital response, individual counseling, group counseling, legal advocacy (assistance with civil/stalking no contact orders), 24-hour crisis hotline, referrals, and prevention education.

Offers law enforcement services to the Henry County area. Issues gun/firearm permits, runs requested background checks, and manages the county Jail.
