Provides weatherization services to make homes more energy efficient through health and safety checks including furnaces, insulation, water heaters and sealing doorways and windows. Inefficient heating components may be repaired or replaced.

Offers a thrift shop providing clothing, shoes, toys and games, and household items for people in need.

Provides boots, non-slip shoes, specific uniform items, job tools, laptops, and other work-related resources for individuals starting a new job. 

Nutritious meals and socializing for older adults ages 60 and older.

Accepts in-person locations (Des Moines, Ankeny, Boone, and Indianola) accept donations of personal hygiene items & diapers/wipes. All locations except for Indianola accept non-perishable food donations as well. Cash donations are always accepted.

Provides 24 hour supported community living to individuals with intellectual disability, brain injury, respite services, agency direct attendant care services under the following waivers, elderly waiver, physical disability waiver, HIV AIDS waiver or a health and disability waiver

Provides one-on-one financial counseling and coaching, including a complete in-depth budget analysis, an individualized financial action plan that outlines steps to be taken, and a benefits check to determine what other resources or programs might be of assistance to achieve financial stability.

Provides medical and cash assistance for customers who are 65 years of age or older, blind, or disabled. Also includes the QMB (Qualified Medicare Beneficiary) program which provides payment of Medicare premiums and some Medicare co-payments.

The online application is called "Application for Benefits Eligibility (ABE)."  When applying, the state will determine the applicant's eligibility for this AABD, as well as SNAP and medical assistance (Medicaid).
