Behavioral and mental health counseling (psychotherapy) for adults and couples. Psychotherapy services are usually but not always covered by medical insurance plans and employee assistance programs. Services can be short term solution focused problem solving, or cognitive behavioral restructuring for emotional or other more trauma-based symptoms. Services provided in person or by telehealth. 

Provides the opportunity for the mentor (Big) to visit their Little in the child's school, after school program, or at another youth-serving agency. This allows for the mentor to meet in a more structured environment than out in the community, usually for about an hour per week.

For Christmas 2025:

Christmas Dinner boxes are offered to those who have received assistance at the Genoa Food Pantry at least one time during the previous 6 months of the current calendar year. The date of distribution is determined each year, usually set for distribution about a week before Christmas.

Weatherization services include a cost-effectiveness energy audit, air leakage checks, insulation, and all combustion appliances inspection for repair and/or replacement.

AProvides assistance to veterans and their dependents in applying for federal benefits, including compensation or pension claims, and benefits available through federal, state, or local laws. Offers emergency financial assistance for basic necessities. Additionally, supports eligible veterans and their families in accessing burial benefits, such as burial in a national cemetery, headstones and markers, memorial certificates, burial flags, and funeral allowances, as provided by the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.

Provides assistance to adults with serious mental health conditions who are Medicaid beneficiaries in coordinating and managing their health and mental health care services. The program provides support and assistance for clients in identifying goals and working with the healthcare team to ensure that the needs of the client are met. Services include coordinating the client's primary and specialty care providers, coordinating the care provided in the hospital, clinic, and the community, and access to a Peer Support Specialist who have experienced living with mental illness.

Provides information and support for parents. Home visits are available by trained parent educators. Group meetings with other parents are also available.

Offers help to first and second-time parents managing the demands of caring for a child during the first three years of life. Family-support workers visit the home to encourage new parents by building on their strengths, emphasizing the joys of parenting and easing concerns with education and hands-on assistance. Services can start before the baby is born with prenatal home visits by a doula.

Provides property assessment, property value information, Homestead, Veteran and Family Farm Credit sign up.

Provides environmental health services that protect community environmental quality and safeguard public health by enforcing local, state, and federal regulations related to water, sewage disposal, and other environmental health issues. Services include well construction permits, septic system permits, Grants-To-Counties funds for private well water testing/rehabilitation, nuisance complaints for public health-related issues, and Radon testing. Also administers swimming pool and tattoo parlor inspections for the county.

Provides food and personal hygiene grooming products, including diapers, to families in need. Food vouchers to local grocery stores for fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, milk, bread, potatoes, cheese, laundry soap, dish soap and toilet paper may also be available.

Engages clients in structured activities centered on personal choice, individualized care, and goal setting. The program offers social interaction and community engagement. Typical activities range from day trips and volunteering with local organizations to working on personal goals like self-advocacy, health monitoring, and adaptive skills.

Provides the following counseling services, evaluations, individual therapy, couples therapy, family counseling, child and adolescent services, elderly services, medication management and tele-mental health, psychiatric care via video conferencing.

State Supplement adds to the benefits of the federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Program to bring the income of aged and disabled individuals up to the need of standards of Nebraska. Additionally, some persons are not eligible for SSI payments, but qualify for a State Supplement payment because of different standards and regulations.

State Disability provides aid to needy persons who have a disability expected to last for at least six months, but less than the 12 months required to be eligible for the federal Supplemental Security Income Program.

Provides services in the office, patient homes, hospitals, rehabilitation units, assisted living facilities, memory care facilities, long-term care facilities, as well as via telehealth visits.

Provides public transit services to all citizens and visitors of Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Story, and Warren counties. The service is open to individuals of all ages, income levels, and abilities, including children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.

The service supports transportation needs for various purposes, including medical appointments, trips to child care or children's activities, shopping, banking, social events, and other non-emergency needs. Door-to-door or curb-to-curb transportation is available to ensure accessibility for those who require special accommodations.
