County level services provide direct emergency economic aid for vital necessities to veterans, their widow, and dependents, according to their needs. Personal visits for assistance and claims to housebound veterans or dependents. Must have an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge from active duty or wartime service. Must be a resident in Nebraska for the past one year. State level services do not require wartime service. Assist in completing applications for the Nebraska Veterans Aid Fund; fee exempt fishing and hunting permits; applications to the Nebraska Veterans Homes; waivers of tuition. Federal level services provide and/or complete Veteran Administration forms for claims relating but not limited to service connected compensation, disability pension, widow's pension, burial allowance, grave markers/headstones, educational benefits, home loans, insurance, indebtedness, and character of service upgrades.

Staff are also available to provide education seminars or specialized group counseling programs on site to any local organization, school, church, or business; topics include communication, conflict resolution, parent training and education, child and adolescent groups, marital enrichment, and anger management.

Brainfuse HelpNow makes bilingual tutors available for learners of all ages. Aside from offering live online tutoring in the areas of Language Arts, Math (including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus), Science (including biology, chemistry, and physics), Social Studies, and Writing, Brainfuse also offers test prep in the following areas: SAT, ACT, AP, and GED.

LIHEAP (low income home energy assistance program) provides assistance with a utility bill. Applications are accepted November 1 – April 30; for elderly or disabled individuals applications are accepted starting October 1. Income must fall within 200% of poverty guideline. Call for an appointment. A letter has been sent to those who may be eligible for early application in August or September.
**This program is not designed to pay a household's total energy costs. The program will provide supplemental assistance based on several factors. This is a one-time payment to your energy provider.

Central Nebraska Community Action Partnership - Loup City
Case management, client needs assessment, goal setting/plan development, and assistance to stabilize housing for individuals and families. Eligibility and re-certification requirements may vary by program.
Limited funding is available and only offered during certain times of the year.
