Offers to work with primary care providers who identify social/emotional or developmental concerns, family stressors, or caregiver depression during well child medical exams. By using tools that screen for these risk factors, providers are better able to identify children at risk for a variety of concerns. 1st Five then provides assistance to the child’s caregivers, helping them find resources to address the identified concerns.

Lincoln's Challenge Academy
Provides a residential, semi-military style program designed for at-risk youth who have dropped out or are behind in school. Classes start in January and July and run for seventeen months.
The first five months are spent in residency at the campus in Rantoul, IL. Youth receive GED instruction or credit recovery, self-discipline, life coping skills, computer skills, and career counseling, and they perform community service projects. Post-graduation, cadets return to the community to continue education in a post secondary institution or vocational school, or obtain employment, with the guidance of a mentor from their community. Youth may be eligible to receive a monetary allowance to assist in education or employment costs.
