Provides the opportunity for the mentor (Big) to visit their Little in the child's school, after school program, or at another youth-serving agency. This allows for the mentor to meet in a more structured environment than out in the community, usually for about an hour per week.

Provides temporary homes for children of families in crisis. Services allow parents an opportunity to resolve a temporary crisis while reducing risk of abuse, neglect, and isolation for children. Connects families with a family friend, who offers a healthy relational support as the family navigates the situation. Also connects the family with a family coach, who can provide linkage to services in the community and set goals to reach a place of stability.

Neighborhood Watch group helps neighbors log suspected drug and gang activity on their block, and help resolve neighborhood problems.

Phone numbers and information on code enforcement issues such as abandoned cars, weeds, and litter.

Coordinate the Precinct Advisory Councils (PACS) which serve as vehicles for community members to work on various problems with city government.

Offers scholarships, amounts are dependent of funding levels, to income eligible individuals in Will County, who are planning to attend accredited Illinois University, community college, technical or vocational schools. Preference is given to applicants of racial or ethnic minorities.

Offers "Norman Services" to support families with children at risk of being placed in DCFS care or unable to return home due to unmet basic needs such as food, shelter, clothing, or other essential items. These services aim to prevent child removal or facilitate reunification by addressing critical living circumstances.

Eligible families may receive assistance through Public Aid/TANF and other cash grants, the Housing Advocacy Program (HAP) to secure permanent housing, and the Emergency Cash Assistance Program for immediate basic needs.

Additionally, the services include support for guardianship-related matters, providing guidance and resources for individuals navigating the appointment or opposition of guardianship arrangements for children or adolescents.

Provides free clothing, winter coats, and household goods to those in need. 

Group of locally organized healthcare and non-healthcare volunteers working to strengthen the health and safety of the community. Identify, credential, train and prepare volunteers before a natural disaster or a national incident.

Provides a Thanksgiving, and Christmas meal for those in need. Thanksgiving Meals is served, Nov. 27, 2025, from 11:30 am-1 pm. No need to register, just come for the in person meal.

Christmas Meal served Dec. 22, 2025, from 11:30 am-12:30 pm. No need to register, just come for the in person meal.

Provides specialized outpatient mental health counseling/therapy services to youth and their families. Services such as counseling, crisis intervention, case management, and advocacy are provided by a qualified mental health professional. Counseling services can take place in an office setting, at school, or in the home based on family need. 

Literacy, basic skills, GED, and ESL classes for students of other cultures.

Program services include rental assistance up to HUD Fair Market Rent allowance and case management. Can remain on program as long as eligibility requirements are met.

Senior Centers offer a variety of programs for senior citizens, including center meals, exercise classes, outreach, information and assistance, social activities, and home delivered meals. Some might offer blood pressure screenings or foot care clinics.

Offers early childhood education to children through the local school district. Half-day or full-day schedules may be available.

County level services provide direct emergency economic aid for vital necessities to veterans, their widow, and dependents, according to their needs. Personal visits for assistance and claims to housebound veterans or dependents. Must have an honorable or under honorable conditions discharge from active duty or wartime service. Must be a resident in Nebraska for the past one year and 6 months of that year in Dundy County. State level services do not require wartime service. Assist in completing applications for the Nebraska Veterans Aid Fund; fee exempt fishing and hunting permits; applications to the Nebraska Veterans Homes; waivers of tuition. Federal level services provide and/or complete Veteran Administration forms for claims relating but not limited to service connected compensation, disability pension, widow's pension, burial allowance, grave markers/headstones, educational benefits, home loans, insurance, indebtedness, and character of service upgrades.
