Offers law enforcement services to the Franklin County area, including operating a 911 emergency response service to assess and dispatch appropriate emergency assistance. Additionally, the agency issues gun/firearm permits, conducts requested background checks, and manages the county jail.

Helps low income residents and households conserve fuel and reduce energy costs by making their homes and apartments more energy efficient. Also provides many health and safety upgrades.

Services include

- Air sealing.

- Attic and wall insulation.

- HVAC repair or replacement.

- Electric base load reduction (lighting and refrigerator replacement).

- Ventilation and moisture control measures (and other health/safety measures).

- Maximum $15,000 for energy-related weatherization and repair work (per client's home).

- Maximum $3,500 for health and safety-related measures.

LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program) assists low-income homeowners and renters pay for a portion of their primary heating costs for the winter heating season. Also encourages households to make regular utility payments, to promote energy awareness and to encourage reduction of energy usage. All customers applying for this prgram will simultaneously be making an application for weatherization assistance as required by state law. Assistance is based on household income. size, type of fuel, and type of housing. Applications accepted October 1-April 30 for the elderly and disabled households and November 1-April 30 for the rest of the households.

For those who have documented long-term disability(s) and have lost housing, PSH offers more supportive services and rent subsidies without a specific time limit.

Allows individuals who reside in Troy Township with a temporary or permanent disability to borrow medical equipment, including:

• Other equipment may be available as donations are received

Provides an advocacy group for persons with mental health concerns and has support groups statewide. It strives to raise public awareness and concern about mental illness, to foster research, to improve treatment and to upgrade the care delivery system. Provides one ride per week to any registered Champaign County resident for medical appointments, financial errands, grocery shopping, or personal errands. Two rides may be provided for those receiving dialysis or other physician ordered therapies.

Rides must be scheduled two days in advance.

Weatherization services include a cost-effectiveness energy audit, air leakage checks, insulation, and all combustion appliances inspection for repair and/or replacement.

Handles federal court matters, including U.S. bankruptcy court.

Provides assistance on a temporary basis for a limited time for basic needs that may include rent/lot rent, interest on mortgage, utilities-gas, electric, water; food vouchers for clients who are unable to work. Cannot be on Subsidized Housing, a student, receive Social Security, or a Veteran.
